Game Story:

The game is called "Shattered soma," and it takes the player on a journey of self-discovery as they play the role of Adina, a teenage girl struggling with anxiety and self-doubt. The game begins with Adina running away from her problems and finding herself in a strange and beautiful world, where she discovers that she has been transformed into glass. With the help of a mysterious figure, Adina sets out to explore this world and find a way out, but she must first confront her inner demons and overcome the mental obstacles that await her. Through this journey, Adina learns to love and accept herself for who she truly is, and the player is taken on an emotional rollercoaster as they navigate the complexities of her mind. Will Adina be able to escape this world and find her way back to reality, or will she be trapped forever in a shattered reflection of herself?

Inspiration:

Bella (our camper who came up with the story) drew inspiration from her experiences in her childhood of being bullied. She sees the story as a love letter to her younger self. Growing up there weren't many video games that addressed such things, none that she came across at least. She wanted to make a point in the gaming space that games can have deeper meaning and purpose besides just entertainment.
